Hello everyone just wondering what exactly REF means on UCAS? I don't have it (havent applied yet, applying for 08) I've just seen it on peoples' computer screens who applied last year.

thanks in advance...

I'm guessing REF stands for Reference made by your tutor.

A reference a summary of your academic and personal achievement. The reference gives the admissions tutors a view to what you are like and your suitability for the course applied for.
A member of your family or a friend should not write it, but it can by someone who has been involved in your educational welfare, ie a teacher, head teacher, careers advisor.

but the REF is an offer

as in C means conditional (based on grade eg a conditional offer of ABB) and REJ means rejection...

im not totally convinced it means reference to be honest any other ideas?
No idea :s:
I'd have said 'reference'.
mine never said that i'm sure.... are you sure you read it properly??
