Why should we vote for people who ignore us then act against our interests?

The reason why the politicians ignore us and act against our interest is because they know we won't vote.

Young people don't vote so political parties ignore them so young people don't vote, its a self fulfilling prophecy.

It is the business of political parties to win peoples votes.

The expectation that young people should vote for something they don't believe in because, maybe, one day, political parties will stop ignoring them, is the political black mail.

Also, as ChaoticButterfly pointed out, young people tried voting and it was thrown back in their face at the first possible opportunity.

Political parties don't need to win votes. People should vote what their parents and grandparents vote for.

Everyone else was all like "tuition fees are great"

That was the first election where I actually had some awareness of what was going on (I was 17)and I would have voted lib demsand man was it a good lesson in cynicism. I was the last year to get access to 3k tuition fees. Everyone else got behind me had 9k and now everyone just seems to accept it that higher education must come along with a load of debt along with all the other sheckling debt you will acrue in your life like those stupid anti young house prices.

I can't ever see myself voting for the lib dems now knowing they will do anything to keep the conservatives in power over labour. Lib dems are for Tories who don;t want to feel bad about supporting the nasty party as far as I am concerned.

The Labour Party's dream! Make them all think we represent the working class like ol' Clem when we're actually representing the middle class champagne socialist intelligentsia, where "the north" means Islington and the border is at the M25.

I'm from Sheffield, and I hate the middle class champagne socialists. I want the Labour Party of Nye Bevan, Ernie Bevin and Clem Attlee.
