Smelling different

My housemate has just informed me that he can smell when i'm on my period......yes, you heard me right he can smell it.

But not in the way that your thinking, not that he can smell anything from my groin area, but that my entire body gives off a different smell when I am about to come on/when im on my period even when I have deodrant and perfume on.

Apparently the chemical changes in our bodys make our entire bodies smell different - funny, because i've never heard such nonsense.

Can anyone back me up on the fact that my housemate is either totaly insane or some mutant freak of nature that can sense things by smelling people :s-smilie:

It's not exactly hard to lie about something like that. Maybe he just noticed you being moody or buying tampons one month and then worked it out for himself. I suspect he's a bit of a charlatan.

Disrupt your period with the pill and then get him to tell you when he thinks you are on it.

Either way, I think you should think up something weird (and untrue) to creep him out with, like you can tell by how watery his eyes are whether he has masterbated in the last 48 hours (48 hours being long enough to make it reasonably likely). If he made up the whole period detecting story then he'll be getting some of his own medicene.

Of course if he was being serious then you may just come across as the creepy one... :tongue:

Its not something that is detected though is it? Pheromones work subconsciously.

Lol, i don't think he can smell your period somehow.

I don't think they smell that strong anyway, i can never smell it and that is when i am sleeping next to my gf, he is hardly going to be able to smell when you are fully clothed and on the other side of the room!

No, I said NOT a period/blood smell.

Everyone has there own smell, that their body smells like and he said that that changed, my own full body smell.

When you're on, your body temperature can increase up to 2 degrees. Maybe this is causing your natural scent to be stronger than normal??? I don't know.

I don't think it's BS to be honest, it sounds quite plausible to me.

I suppose it makes sense, all sorts of things change in our bodies when we are on our periods. I'd have probably kept that to myself though, if I were him. :biggrin:
