I like a girl but she just ended a relationship

I met a girl a few weeks ago and we've been talking for just over a week now. I do find her interesting, we do have meaningful conversations and she is interested to talk to me. The problem is that she just ended a short relationship and she is still affected by that so I am worried that I may be a rebound. I don't know how to proceed from here, I do like her and I like that we get along well but I don't want to be a rebound.

I was considering 2 options, the first being to just stay friends for the time being and then give it a few weeks before asking her out. The second is I don't pursue things at all because I have no idea when she will get over her ex.

Any advice?

i think you should see how it goes and stay friends/ talk for a bit longer and not rush it if you do feel that she may be using you as a rebound ; I doubt she would do that though.
