Hey!
I am stuck between my choices.
I have offers to study Digital Marketing BA (Portsmouth), International Business Management BSc (Newcastle London campus) and Marketing Communications BA (Bournemouth).
It is worth noting that I am an international student and I'm equally interested in all of these areas of marketing. To be honest, I've always wanted to live in London and it's easier to travel there. What's more, I am used to living in big busy cities, so smaller ones may seem too boring to me. Finally, as all of my chosen courses include a placement year, I feel it would be more convenient for me to live in London in order to find a job and a flat, but that's questionable, of course.
The only thing that prevents me from choosing Newcastle (London) is that this is a new campus and it comes with obvious disadvantages. For example, there is literally one building for everything, so there aren't many facilities. Social side of university life is limited to people I'm studying with, so no students with specialisations different from mine. Last, but not least, I'm afraid there won't be many British/EU students, mostly international ones, which I consider to be kind of a drawback.
On the contrary, I like study programmes in Portsmouth and Bournemouth more, because they are less scientific and focus on a creative side of marketing. However, these universities are less well-known, so their degrees less useful when it comes to searching for a job outside the UK.
I am also interested in obtaining CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing, so I would like to hear about this too...
To sum up, I would be happy to get in touch with people who study marketing in the mentioned universities in order to hear their opinion on the course. If you are one of these students, please, tell me about your student life, as this will help me make a decision.
