I haven't the slightest clue about sources of funding and I'm trying to find out if the closure of the local A&E near me is anything to do with the local council but I'm clueless.

Is NHS funding a completely separate thing?

Should know this since I have a politics degree but I didn't study anything about funding/local structures at all.

Councils pay for local social care, not main A&E functions.

Good - its far too complicated and changes far too often to bother learning.

See the below for a pretty good, simplified infographic
