Student Finance Confirmation Letter

So logging into student finance online, it says they sent out a letter last week confirming my loan/grant details etc. and i'm assuming the schedule etc. of when they will pay it which I believe needs to be taken when I enrol.

Trouble is, I have recieved no such letter yet and before I ring them, I was interested to see whether anyone else has recieved anything from them in the last couple of weeks?

Yeah, I got some man on the phone, he had ABSOLUTELY-IMPOSSIBLE-TO-UNDERSTAND-ACCENT, I asked to repeat what he said many times, but I didn't get a thing of what he said.. Is it just me(i'm Russian), or English people also struggle to understand irish or scotish or welsh(not sure which one it was) accent?

x_f_x do you have any troubles logging onto your studentsupportdirect.co.uk account? I don't even have Login link(any Menu) on the first page.

I just phoned and asked the same thing as u, basically the letter should arrive in two days, but I phoned and asked them to resend another copy to be safe. But it should arrive.

i got confirmation....then they said they needed my NI number (which I had given them before...) - still havn't heard back.
I called my LEA and they said that there's been loads of complaints from people not receiving the letter. :frown: And I can't log in either to send them a complaint message...

I sent of Change of Circumstanes(I changed a uni to King's) form 2 weeks ago, but the changes weren't made, so I e-mailed them and they said they recieved nothing.. Do you know if I don't get this sorted by 24th will it mean I won't be able to start the course? :s-smilie:

Well they can't give you any money until the letter has been scanned by the university/college at enrolment...

ok so in response to glimax
i am also in a similar situation where i sent in a change of circumstance letter to the finance people and they said keep ur original finance letter from before u had ur change of circumstance and take this to the uni...the confirmation letter..cos u need to take this to uni anyway....meanwhile the finance people will be reassessing ur finance which will take 6 weeks or longer...so u have still got some time to go yet... and when they have sorted out the finance and sent u again ur new confirmation letter (for after ur change of circumstance) which will take ages yet, just like mine, then u take this new letter and show it to ur uni once u have received it. And my impression is that ur loan won't actually start coming in until ur change of circumstance has been sorted :frown: .....as this is the case for me! Hope this helps!

ok so in my case, i decided not to take the accommodation that was given to me so i'll just get less maintenance grant and won't receive that for a while. but my tuition fees, u know the 3070 pounds doesn't change because i haven't changed uni or anything...but for u who has changed uni...firstly the tuition fee loan should be the same because most uni's require u to pay 3000 pounds anyway... but my advice for u is this...take ur old finance letter on the day of enrollment at kings and explain to them that you had a change of circumstances so ur loan is a bit delayed...i'm sure the people there at enrollment will be the best people to advise u on what to do next...or if u can't wait for enrollment day then ring up kings and explain ur situation. hope this helps
