    Hi,

I'm a recent graduate who completed a four year Masters degree last summer, hence I'm due to start repaying my loan this year. I've got a job with a salary over £21,000 so I'll be eligible to start repayments. However, my start date for the job is March 27th and I should receive my first salary payment in late April.

I've received a letter and a form from the student loans company which I need to fill out with my employment information and return to the SLC as soon as possible. My question is can I fill out my employment form, saying that I'm employed, even though I won't actually be starting the job for another two months or so? I've accepted the job offer so technically I am employed, but the form requires certain information which I don't yet have (employer's PAYE reference number) and won't have until my first salary payment. This will be in late April, well after the deadline to return the form.

Any help on this is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

You would need to complete the form at the moment saying you are unemployed, we will then hopefully be able to match you up in March through HMRC when you start your new job.

    Thanks.

    Ok, I'll do that.
