Another girl asking my crush to prom Watch

I used to message this guy and I was pretty sure he was into me, I had been crushing on him for ridiculously long and really wanted to make a move but I was being such a pussy. Basically, things faded away over summer and now it's coming up to prom and I know a girl (actually a distant friend) who has told me that she's going to ask this guy to prom.

I think I'm more attractive than this girl, and I'm not even sure he likes her -- they just seem friendly but I think she's taking it the wrong way. I don't want to see her friend zoned but I don't have the guts to go up to him, so HOW DO I GET OVER THIS GUY???

Tbh I've liked this guy for a year and a half and it would break my heart to see him go to prom with another girl, but seeing as it's my fault we haven't got close I think it's up to me to get over him.
