I guess you just have to keep trying out different things until you find something you really have a 'gift' or 'talent' for.
Everyone has something, just got to find it.

Try having a go at lots of different things, you never know you may find something you enjoy far more.

I want a goal but what if you are not very good at what you enjoy? Or what if you are no good at anything or do not know what you want to do?

If you're not good at the thing you enjoy; make it your goal to become good at it.
If you genuinely don't think you're good at anything, and have no ideas what you want to do with your life - try lots of different things. Eventually, something will come up that you enjoy and are good at.

Your goal can be to find what you are good at and enjoy

Ha, yea thats my current one. I enjoy sport and fitness but am too quiet and shy to teach really, well im rubbish at coaching so went into engineering which I don't enjoy too much, its ok though. I was reading a biography yesterday and the author saud that people are much happier if they have goals, which got me thinking I have no goal.

What do you feel strongly about? what envokes a huge response in you? What makes you sit up and think about something? what do you stop everything to do? What makes you passionate?

My point is that you may be "good" at lots of things, you may be "good" at few, but you will only really feel like you're working towards something if you feel passionate about it. work out what you enjoy, what's gives you life satisfaction, then work out from there what you can do.

If you say you like sports - is that just something that you enjoy, or is it something that you wouldn't be able to live without?
you might feel like you're not ready to teach - that doesn't mean that you can't or won't develop these skills, in the meantime, there are jobs you can get at leisure centres where you can see coaches in action and pick up on some tips and tricks they use.

A goal is something to give you inspiration, something to aim for.

I don't think that the achievement of the aim is as important as the aim itself. I have a list of things I want to achieve including going to the uni of my choice, which i am and getting 4 A's at A level which I didnt get (got AABB) but the fact is, having a goal to aim for meant that i put in the effort and ultimately got where i wanted to be.

So you should still have a goal regardless of whether you think you are good at it or not, it's sensible to have achieveable goals so that you can achieve them and feel proud but maybe have far out goals as well, one of mine is to get a black belt and so far i only have a yellow tag.

I can relate (if I've got the right end of the stick but I can't remember what I read like 2 minutes ago ). The only real goal I have is with my poetry but I can't exactly make a living out of that.

Just keep trying new things!

Or aim to improve at something you enjoy? I take singing lessons, when I first started I was DREADFUL. But 2 years on, I have now achieved a distinction in grade 7!

Are you into sport at all? How about trying something slightly off mainstream, like windsurfing?

Half the fun is the journey there anyway. And not being great at it just means it'll be more fun getting there :p:

Though don't aim too high or you might be disappointed!
