    that sucks.

why does he have to pay anything lol

sounds a bit like men buying women.

what do feminists think about this? *cough Nirvana1989-1994 cough*
I think you should make another thread if you want feminist opinions.
Let's not turn this into yet another Islam bashing thread.

Im confused as to what you're tryna say
Well you said pride so presumably his line of thought would be

    "I'm getting married to her"
"That's something to be proud of"

    As it should be.

    Right?

I was just wondering if you agreed with me about something for once.

and don't use the word "darling" followed by smug smiley

actually just don't use the word darling altogether

Indeed. And as far as i'm concerned money is too little a price worth paying for such pride. :yep:

Also thanks for letting me know. I've attended many weddings in the past but this had escaped my notice until today.

To be honest I don't care as I'd like it more to do our home the way we like not just the way I want

I haven't heard anything which suggests it's haram. I don't think there's anything wrong with making it look nice (as long as you take care of it).

About the rainbow Qurans- Yeah I'm curious too because they are really pretty

But would that mean that the covers of the Quran can't be decorated with nice patterns either??

tbh you should stop that too, you're triggering memories of this South Asian girl I went on a couple of dates with who always would say that.

I might start unconsciously associating her with you.
