Hi, I'm Jess. This'll be my first year at Leeds Beckett. I got offered an unconditional for marketing and advertising but I haven't booked my accommodation yet. I'm really stuck on where to go. I've tried searching but this is really new to me so I've only seen the official Leeds Beckett accommodation >.< I'm worried because a lot of people seem to have already put their deposits down for places and I haven't got a clue... If anyone could help by telling me some places to research and look up on I'd be really grateful. Or better yet where are you thinking of going if you're a first year?
    Ideally want a studio apartment...
    Thanks in advance 😊

Hi Jess/Ragedarling, I'm the rep for Leeds Beckett so I thought I would offer some advice.

First of all don’t worry – everyone is new to this and there isn’t a right or a wrong way of doing things. Accommodation at Leeds Beckett only opened last Wednesday so there’s still plenty left to choose from. I can only really advise on what’s available within Leeds Beckett Accommodation (most first years stay with us as it’s a good way to meet more students in the same situation) but if you’re thinking of looking elsewhere then we’d advise you start with the Unipol website: https://www.unipol.org.uk/home. Unipol is a student housing charity that offers advice and has an accreditation scheme called the Unipol Code which landlords and private student accommodation providers can sign up for and it guarantees a certain standard of accommodation for you and offers a bit of protection if anything goes wrong.

We’ve put together a blog post about a few of the questions around choosing your accommodation which you can view here: http://www.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/accomm...accommodation/. Hope that helps, please feel free to call the University’s Accommodation team on 0113 812 5972 if you have any more questions.
