I did NCS in 2014 during the summer. I think it was for about 4/5 weeks? At the time I LOVED it and I would recommend anyone to do it just so that they meet new people, do something different and to actually get out of the house during the summer. I became better socially and my confidence grew. It really bulked up my personal statement. It's good to have on your cv as it shows that you committed to something and they should provide you with volunteer work which will also look good on a CV and a personal statement if you are still a teenager.

Anyone going on the 17th to Kent (Wide Horizons)? Would like to know a few people before I go so I'm not stuck on a coach for 4 and a half hours not knowing anyone. Also does anyone know how the roommate situation is done? Mainly for the second week as I'm a vegetarian (who barely eats eggs and drinks almond milk/soya milk, basically I'm vegan at this point) and would rather be roomed with other vegetarians/vegans for simply the fact meals will be easier

Am I right in thinking that there are small groups within each wave? If so, who decides what group you are put into- us or the NCS people? Also, how is the people who you share room with sorted out? I hope this doesn't sound stupid!! I haven't attended any warm up events or anything, does this make a difference? Thanks
