    Hi all,

Im currently a mature student (22) half way through my first year of A levels. Ill be applying to universities within the year and have noticed most top russel group universities require a minimum GCSE English Language at a B grade. Does anyone know the best options for me to study as a private candidate (preferably cheap) and without controlled assessments?

There are some schools that provide the exam but as far as coursework is concerned, chances are you would need to do this but you would have to be enrolled at a place where you have the resources to complete it.

    Hi

If you do the new edexcel gcse, there is no controlled assessment. But you could also try Edexcel IGCSE English B as it is one paper and there are quite a few resources.
    Hope that helps
