I've taken my test 4 times now and just can't seem to pass due to nerves. When I'm with my instructor I drive completely fine (otherwise I'd have given up by now) I don't understand why I can't drive the same on my test. Every time I've failed it's been for a different reason. I've tried kalms, they didn't work and the doctor wouldn't give me anything either. Any advice?

If you're failing for different reasons and your instructor isn't picking up on them plus you seem to drive fine with your instructor I'd say your instructor is the problem. Part of their job is to build confidence and nerves are one thing but if you're not confident and your instructor is not picking up on mistakes then you're not going to pass!

Have you tried having your instructor in the car with you on the test? Thatss something that you're allowed to do (although they have to sit in the back and can't communicate with you throughout) but if they calm you down, it's worth a try?

I'm really considering trying this next time! I haven't before as my friend said it made her feel more nervous😟

Yeah i'd agree with the other poster, as it seems your instructor gives you that extra bout of confidence. Do you have a car of your own? Or a parent's car that you can go out with and get some private practice? It's such a different experience, and I went from not being able to drive without my instructor, to preferring driving with my partner rather than my instructor! I haven't had my test yet but it's definitely given me that extra bit of independent confidence!

    Hey

Maybe get your instructor to sit in the back in your next test as it could make you feel calm/confident? Or if you've been able to get some practice outside of your lessons?
