I'm definitely better at reading than listening (not by that much thought lmao). It's really just practice. With reading, you get to have the words right in front of you and read them as much as you want and break them apart. But when they're speaking, you barely hear each word when they're speaking quickly, so you don't have time to start breaking down the word or understanding from context, because by the time you do that, they're already talking about the points for the next question.

Practise listening more; the overwhelming majority of people will be better at reading because you only need to see what's there in front of you, you don't have to deal with dialects, intonation, pronunciation, slang words, speed of speech etc.

Just listen more. Try and listen to things with a transcript (but don't look), then write down what you think they're saying, then check the transcript and repeat.

Music is especially useful in this respect.
