    Are there any extra curriculum things I am able to do that will make me stand out for a geography degree in urban and regional planning. any work experience or things I can write on my personal statement?????

    You could try to get work experience or shadowing with your local town planning team?

    Watch some TED talks: https://www.ted.com/topics/urban+planning

    Lurk/read sites like https://www.planetizen.com/ (I'm sure there's UK equivalents).

    Do you have an opportunity to do an EPQ? If so then something combining local history and the way your town/village/city has developed over time could be a really interesting topic (and one that there's normally some great sources for in local reference libraries).
