Since people do past papers for maths revision, what if you don't know how to even answer the question (difficult to answer) but the mark scheme is not present or you want to learn how to answer the type of question? (without help)

For maths doing past papers is by far the best revision. Trust me. With difficult questions just ask the a teacher, friend or even student room. However, usually the mark schemes are easy to find and follow

I'd recommend asking a teacher or friend to help you with the question. If you want to learn how to answer the type of question, ask your teacher what topic the question comes under (if it isn't already obvious to you) and go home and research it on youtube or google and find some practise questions to do.
Otherwise, you could try to google the question and see if it has already been answered online, or a similar question is already online, and this will usually give you a clue as to the topic you're looking at.
