banaboo.com: It is catchy, refreshing and even groovy. It is not however, serious. Although, with a major site change this might not be a problem. If banboo.com becomes a large portal of message boards, links, help, fun etc. then uk-learning could just be part of that site. It could just bear the banaboo brand.

    Uk-Learning, from Banaboo.com.

Don't you think that sounds alright? It would just be like Blogger's relationship with Google. People will still come over to Uk-Learning for a serious discussion, but also for a place to relax. Visitors would find that within the Banaboo network there is something for them. In this way I think the change would help the board to continue tio thrive as it does today.

If however the idea is just to have banaboo.com as a site that appears and is very similar to what you get when you click uk-learning.net then I think the rebrand will be unnecessary and possibly disastorous.

There is also ambiguity in the pronuciation:

    banAboo.com [ban - a - boo - dot - com]
    banaBOO.com [barna - boo - dot - com]
    BANaboo.com [ban - aboo - dot - com]
    BANAboo.com [banna - boo - dot - com]

    What do you think?

Do you like the name? What does it make you think of? What do you associate it with? I would really appreciate any reactions and comments.

    Many Thanks,

I wouldn't link it with an educational site in any possible way and it sounds like bamboo or some afro company....

a bit too "let's all sit in a boardroom and decide on a trendy, hip, memorable name which reflects current popularities on the net" for my liking.
Are you suggesting that d isn't "with it"?

it makes me think of the brand of suncreen "bananaboat" which makes me think of florida, which in turn makes me think of smoothies, bagels, bikinis, and coconut.
