    lol first job rejection
its ok still need to hear back from 7 more or none as is often the case
it's funny how they say 'carefully considered your application' even though i sent it yesterday :rofl3:

anyway onward and upward :yy: just revise for alevels all day then apply for jobs in the evening
    good plan
    tell me about it

I saw someone who got a rejection in 7 minutes with an "after careful consideration". Sometimes it's just ridiculous lol

    I'm feeling a little frustrated...

Wanted to make a post about the possible change to the MHA 1983 reported in the news...

But I got a message that my post would have to be reviewed by a moderator.

My thread/post was innocuous and I'm dumbfounded.

I mentioned the name of our current Prime Minister but it was in context within the news/my post.

Jeez! (oh, I can say that then!)

I feel very confused and very stressed. I just don't know what to do and it bothers me an awful lot. My head is a mess. The thought of running away is very, very appealing. I could ditch my phone, cut ties with everyone and everything, get the train to somewhere far away, buy/rent a flat with my savings and find a job. That sounds so wonderful. I really think it would be best. There's absolutely nothing to keep me here. I need to get away.

that is really ridiculous another ridiculous thing is how almost everywhere wants 'previous experience' but how are you meant to do that when noone will take you on in the first place :nothing:

      silly life :indiff:
i've been saying this for years, good luck with the job hunt :hugs:

      Wrong Jack

Did you post it in the Mental Health forum? All threads in there are moderated before they are posted, and if it is ok, it just takes a while for it to be posted. That's just the rules. So I don't see what you're complaining about.

well how am i supposed to know :/
noone gives you an instruction manual on any of this
and tbh it would be nice if they did cos then i wouldn't have to buy eggs next year on my crap loan amount
One of the many failings of our education system.

Agencies are a good way to get experience as they send you on short-term assignments. Companies are far more accepting of young people with no experience for these roles because they can end the assignment instantly whenever they like so the perceived risk is much lower.

tell me about it, have a string of A*s and As but can't adult for the life of me :/
and that sounds good but it's too flexible as in i dont know where i would be posted and i cant drive and noone can drive me there and i can only work in two places cos they have reliable buses.
      I see.

Well, just keep throwing mud and some of it will stick. Retail, customer service, waitress etc. are all things that will hire someone with no experience if they seem friendly.

or maybe i should just accept that im destined for failure considering that the only thing im good at in life i am leaving in 3 weeks and im the msot awkward shy person on the planet whose voice noone can understand.
You are going to university soon?

Finding your first job can be hard for many people, it doesn't make you a failure.

I can't comment on whether you're awkward or have an unintelligible voice, but inevitably you're overreacting.

Just keep at it and you'll be fine mate

      yes in september
yeh i guess so, i mean ik it's not easy but that's not the only thing im bothered about, at school for instance you go to school and do your work and everything is dandy. You can socialise if you want to but you dont have to and then you go home and do more work.
At uni you have to do everything yourself and ik from being home alone all the time that it takes ages and is stressful and that's not even including bills and whatever cos obs i dont pay bills when im on my own for like a week lol
how do you know im overreacting? everyone inrl knows it
i wish i could be like 25 or whatever and have my career and drink my coffee and do whatever people do

You won't be paying bills or have to worry very much about being an adult in your first year. If you can buy food, prepare it, use a washing machine and wash yourself you will already have a head start on many of the people who move into halls. Students pretend they are independent, but they're not. You will have cleaners, room checks and people looking after your well-being. Even when you do have to pay bills the process is incredibly simple. In fact, it can be set up to be automatic so you never even have to think about it.

I don't know that you are overreacting, I think I said clearly that I didn't know. I'd guess you probably are because almost everyone overestimates their deficiencies when they lack confidence.

Don't wish your life away. You have the world slowly rolling out in front of you. I'm old and have to work and drink a lot of coffee but I'd love to be able to go and derp around at university for another few years.

I know it's easy for someone else to say - someone who is sort of on the outside looking in - but I'm sure you've come so far in life, and you might not think it, but you have

Life is stressful - accept that but as ByronicHero said, just keep going! I know that's easier said than done, but at least you are trying. I mean, to me you seem like someone who is INCREDIBLY hard-working, and that's a really good thing You mentioned being awkward and shy, but you will get over that in time (I'm shy too ).

I really hope this doesn't sound too patronising? Because I'm just trying to reassure you :hugs:

Keep going Cavy You'll figure this thing called 'life' out :hugs:
