I am moderately dyslexic and thinking about applying for a DSA for IT support and extra time. However I would need to get an up to date ed pysch report, have been quoted £625 for this. Can anyone advise on the likely value of the allowance for someone in my position AND as it is time consuming getting the assement done can I defer making the application for a DSA until the summer? many thanks

DSA is a person to person thing so it's difficult to put a number on it, but a study support tutor alone could be £20 an hour, if you had that once a week ( a common recommendation) that would be £800 in an academic year, software is in the hundreds especially speech to text software which is expensive.

Once you get that ed psych report it should be suitable for the rest of your adult life so it's worth the cost this one time Also if they won't give you extra time without that report, it's not just about money, it's about your grades too.
Have you spoken to your university? they can be limited but some may have funds to reduce that slightly
