I have recently been accepted to Mcgill in Canada but also to the universities of Leeds, Sheffield, Cardiff and Manchester. For the UK I was hesitating between Leeds and Sheffield but I didn't expect to be accepted to Mcgill, so now I'm reconsidering my choices. Having a French citizenship, I don't have much problems with the costs of both UK and Mcgill university (Mcgill is in fact cheaper for me).

I was wondering if someone could tell me their opinion on that matter.

Should I give Mcgill a try?
I did visit the university last summer and the campus looked nice.

If you can't answer that, could someone tell me their opinion on Sheffield or Leeds? Which one do you think might be better? What is your experience?

    Thank you

Depends on what you're going for. As a Canadian studying in Britain, I can tell you that McGill is a whole lot more prestigious than Sheffield or Leeds. It's ranked... 25th? 24th? In the world. That said, prestige is probably meaningless if you aren't studying for very specific courses.

You will find that meeting people will be very easy in Britain compared to Canada. You will find the weather in Britain much better.

It really depends on what you like. Look at the clubs and societies of the various universities and check to see what you want out of your university experience.
