    Titration curve plotted showing the change in ph as NaOH is added to ethanedioic acid H2CO4 the titration curve obtained has two equivalence points.

    Write an equation for the reaction which is completed at the first equivalence point?

    I am stuck with writing the equation. also what will the equation be for the second equivalence point?

    Ethanedioic acid is diprotic (dioic means it contains two carboxyllic acid grpoups) so at each equivalence point it will lose one proton, the equation would be the reaction in which the acid swaps one of its H atoms with an Na.

    Point one: H2CO4 + NaOH -> NaHCO4 + H2O
    Point two: NaHCO4 + NaOH -> Na2CO4 + H2O

    That makes 100% sense. Thank you!
