Looking for any possible help anyone can offer for OCR A-level Sociology;
Paper 1 - Introducing socialisation, culture and identity.
- Families and Households
Paper 2 - Research methods
- Researching social inequalities.
Paper 3 - Globalisation and the digital social world
- Crime and Deviance

There's such a goldmine for AQA but not so much for OCR.

Definitely look at the OCR website for past papers and answers. Ditto some of the AQA stuff on their website and on here as there are commonalities e.g. crime and deviance and media.

Happy to mark any practice questions for you.

Hello! I studied OCR Sociology last year and I have plenty of example essays, full mark essays I have written and booklets full of information. I did however do the old spec so its not all completely the same but a lot of the information can be used within the new spec (my sister uses my work as she is studying sociology this year).

If I can be of any help let me know! There's so much material that it would be impossible to put it all on here but happy to send anything you need just ask! :biggrin:

No problem! It will give you the basis but the spec has changed for this year though, however lots of it can still be applied. 😁 Let me know what you fancy looking over as obviously AS Level and A level were both completely different.

I'm doing the research methods and social inequalities paper on Thursday and omg there's so many studies to learn! I'm fine with the research studies, but the social inequalities are too much

Yeah same! I have a psychology exam today (Wednesday) for paper 2 so have been revising for that, but research methods in psychology and in sociology are pretty similar so going to have to revise inequalities as soon as I am out of the exam. What optional unit did you choose for paper 3 sociology?

How did everyone find the OCR paper two today, research methods and inequality? What did people write for the 40marker and 25marker?
For the 25 I got confused because it said questionnaires and in depth interviews so I done two points for both and one point for questionnaires and three points against using both but it was basically waffle 😖😖

Also found the 25 mark hard as I did for and against for both
Also for the 40 mark I used functionalism by using meritocracy and role allocation and against was marixsm, not sure whether I did It right

Okay good we're in the same boat haha, for 40 I done one para on meritocracy but forgot role allocation 😖😖 one para on weberainisam and social class, and my final para on Murray underclass 😫 I had to resort to using that bcos I could not think of anything else. Juxtaposed with Marxism too, but other than those two questions which were a bit confusing the paper was alright
