Career change to Actuary watch

    • Thread Starter

I am a recent MMath Graduate and I am currently working at a telecommunication company as Telecoms Analyst. I like my job as it is not very stressful and I can work on my own pace but this is not the industry that I want to work in. I really want to work as an Actuary at an insurance company because I like analysing data, love to solve problems and like to work with numbers. Before applying for my current job, I did look for Trainee Actuarial positions but it was very competitive and I didn't have much work experience. So I am planning to stay at this current company for about 2 years and hopefully by then I will have passed few Actuarial Exams then apply for Actuary jobs. Do you think this is a realistic plan? How difficult is this career change going to be? Thanks in advance.
Do you think parents should charge rent?
