This is without the secert army of voters, rip EU. They'll join Britain in exiting and Europe about to divide and seperate, it won't go into a world war 3 but it will turn into a trade war that will decline EU, but rise western powers such as UK, France, Italy (they next, but will leave later a lot later) and will heal Greece. There won't be much western decline than...

Well, I am glad as most should be that the EU will likely dismantle in the next couple of years. An undemocratic institution with too much power and not enough accountability. I think if you are a remainer in the UK you should still look at this as a positive thing economically.

A possibility. Shame about Fillon as he's s far superior candidate and would address the economic problems rather than merely. Blameing immigrants and ramping up public sector spending.

It would be interesting to see how an eu referendum would fare. I think it's less likely than brexit, but it appears the zeitgeist is the eurosceptics and the elites seem to have learnt nothing. A pity as I think the EU is a grand enterprise and has despite some failings benefitted Europe massively.

She will win the first one most likely but it's extremely doubtful she will win the second

Hard to see liberals and left-wing folk voting for Thatcherite Fillon if he was up against Le Pen. I reckon we'll see some character assassination on Macron soon enough to discredit him and stop him reaching the 2nd round. He would trounce Le Pen.

They held their nose and voted for Chirac, they can do it again (assuming Fillon gets to the second round, which I doubt).

I agree, I see a majority of socialists would vote LePenn as she is left wing economically.

As usual, 6 leftist candidates will run. If they presented a single candidate they would win the first round...

Chirac was much more people-friendly than Fillon. I think that most in the left would prefer to abstain than vote for him.
The last poll for the second round gives Fillon 56% - Le Pen 44%, whilst Macron would have a much more comfortable lead.

Just to let you know, France has an election mechanism with two rounds, so Le Pen might win the first round but cannot win the second:

    Fillon is toast. RIP France.
RIP? Cos of some Thatcherite economic plan?

I think getting them out of the Euro and clamping the hell down on the terror risk would be the sane priorities to save the country.

And I think the Eurosceptics Melanchon and Le Pen may well make round 2.
