Considering Durham, Edinburgh, Southampton, St Andrews and York for uni. I've only been to Edinburgh and I was very impressed, but was only there for a short day. Wondering what the nightlife/social situation would be like for each uni. Also, how are the people in each of those unis generally (stereotypes?)? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated (:

    Stereotypes:

    Durham: Salty Oxbridge rejects (Doxbridge)

St Andrews: Posh Royals or Americans

These are the major stereotypes for the two universities I am aware about... of course the truth is that these stereotypes do not accurately reflect what the student population is like. So don't worry too much about stereotypes.
