It's the opposite for me: I am consistently getting level 9s in English but for Maths I am underachieving due to the higher proportion of difficult questions. I strongly agree the old spec was much easier
What exam board r u doing for english lit and lang?

I just did lots of practice, did past papers, textbook questions - just practice! If you misunderstand anything, watch videos and maybe read over any notes you made in class or a revision guide.
which revision guides/websites do you use?

The edexcel maths 9-1 mocks were so difficult . The entire class came out of the hall nearly in tears.

there is going to be a big kerfuffle when the results come out in August.

at higher level: the private schools will scoop the grade 9s

the foundation results will be an apocalypse: only about 20% will score the equivalent of grade C.

        thanks Mr Gove
I fear that this is quite accurate...
So glad I just missed out on the new GCSE!
And is that stuff about sin cos tan being put in the foundation paper true?x

I did very well (achieved a 9 in the January mocks), I found that using https://hegartymaths.com/ was really useful.

luckily the grade boundaries will be much lower because everyone is finding it difficult. I just did a 2010 paper and have to say, they had it easyy

I've always struggled with maths but with the old spec + a lot of work I could get a high C or a low B. But with the new spec + a lot of work I'm barely scraping a 4 I feel like it's unnecessarily difficult but I suppose I'm luck because for us and the current year 10s a 4 counts as a pass whereas after that a pass will be a 5
