    Hey TSR,

I don't know about you, but I hate Valentine's Day with a burning passion. The cards, the terrible TV adverts, the whole 'holiday' sensationalised feel of it. Bluuueeerrrgghh. Cannot stand it. :hand:

With the day coming up, I've made this thread so that people like me can bask in the aggravation and find relief in knowing they're not alone! We can get through this together.

I made the title of this thread green because it's the opposite of red.

Valentine's Day is just a chance for stores to make money from this commercialised day of gift giving. The emphasis is that you give your loved one an endless shower of love on this special day but if you do love them, you'd do this every day and never forget to tell them what you think about them. It's a simple money making tactic.

Out of all the 'special days' in the calendar, Valentine's is the one I hate most (mostly because I'm single, but partially because I think it's pointless anyway)

YESSS you guys get it! I especially agree with Rhythmical, it's so fake and such a consumer-driven thing. Really annoys me.

I don't understand why people need to show their love and affection on one day. It should be everyday if they truly love the person. It's so fake. *gags*

    EXACTLY! Preeeeaaach!

Nothing says I love you like: "Oh hey ily so much that I buy you flowers on the one day society would expect me to buy you flowers and literally never buy them otherwise".

Just doesn't sit right with me, never has.

I don't really know how I feel about Valentine's Day... I mean it's lovely to buy and receive but surely if you loved someone that much you'd be caring and kind to them every day ?? Just my opinion

      You're all sour grapes.

Every holiday is overly commercialised. This is nothing new.

Lets just spread the luuvv and enjoy some expensive chocolate.

It feels good to spend money on somebody special on valentines or any other day like christmas or birthday. Yeah you dont need a holiday to treat someone, but whats wrong with using it as an excuse to celebrate?

Ps i am spending it completely alone...and thats okay. I hope everyone that has somebody special enjoys their evening.

We're bitter and proud. I'm incredibly bitter.

Good points, but this doesn't stop my intense dislike of it, tbh.
