No but that's the thing. We are alone
I actually lol'd so hard at this. Touché… touché. :rofl2:

I still hated it in a relationship though. Totally not bitter. At all.

Omg yes yes yes. I hate how every store you go to has bright red flowers, signs and cards with soppy and cheesy messages.

I wrote this whilst watching a valentine's day advert on TV.

    You're all sour grapes.

Every holiday is overly commercialised. This is nothing new.

Lets just spread the luuvv and enjoy some expensive chocolate.

It feels good to spend money on somebody special on valentines or any other day like christmas or birthday. Yeah you dont need a holiday to treat someone, but whats wrong with using it as an excuse to celebrate?

Ps i am spending it completely alone...and thats okay. I hope everyone that has somebody special enjoys their evening.
But here's the thing, 100 years ago, Valentine's day wasn't really celebrated. Other holidays like Christmas/Easter were.

It's an entirely made up occasion that was created by marketing departments and the like.

Even though most of my friends have boyfriends/girlfriends, we're all just meeting up to eat junk food and watch movies as a "friend appreciation day"

I expect most if not all advertising is based on couples who are a woman and a man. So it is not just not nice to single people. It cannot be kind to those widowed either.
