Basic rights funded by taxation? If you mean health care and education, then I'm sorry, those aren't rights. You're not entitled to ones labour because that is slavery and is also why taxation is theft.

Water is a tangible asset, supply in the West for water is low because states control the water supply. I would argue that this is a necessity, would you agree in this case then for a business to purchase Britains water reserves and "sell" tap water to the consumers?

Here is my political compass and Isidewith, I was quite suprised as the compass shows that I am quite libertarian, and the isidewith shows that I side with the greens.
    Left libertarian is an oxymoron.

"I believe in freedom; except when it comes to peoples' finances."

    A contradiction in terms.

Not really. It's just that our version of freedom also includes freedom from economic oppression due to one's birth. Actual equality of opportunity, if you will.

But capitalism is slavery. Right libertarianism is worse "I belive people should do whatever they want, unless they can't afford it"
Also in that statement you assume that money is a given.

Not really when I advocate for UBI and free at point of use medical care. Though you're an individual who believes a 4 year old child whose parent can't afford medical care for them deserves to die. That's equality of opportunity, isn't it?

Capitalism is slavoury to the rich because you are forced to live to work where as socialism is slavary to the people where you work to live.

It really depends on ones priorities. Most people in the UK could happily get a minimum wage job (full time) in the north east of England and live perfectly happily were they not bothered about material possession. Most people however would rather own their home in a leafy suburb while driving their BMW and playing on their Ipad.
Most people want access to healthcare and they don't want access to healthcare to be a lifestyle choice like owning a BMW and ipad. You have completely missed the point.

It isn't even like the two are mutually exclusive. You can have a society where people chase BMWs and ipads whilst at the same time healthcare is a public good.

Liberaterain as a political word came into existence to describe those who are against hierarchies brought about by stratified classes and a state controlled by elites. They were anti capitalist.

Right libertarian is an oxymoron as society is just split into lots of corporate feudal kingdoms run by mini stalins who have total control over those below them. Rational wiki sums up why right libertarianism makes no sense.

    • What, exactly, is the goal? The selling point of libertarianism is its offer of expanded individual liberties to do as you please. The offer is illusory if it in fact means that your freedom of action is hindered at every turn by bosses, owners, and other toll collectors. They all can demand money, or that you contract away your libertarian freedoms, for the privilege of stepping on their lawns. These new gatekeepers of "liberty" can still do stuff like fire you for testing positive for now-legal drugs. If maximizing individual freedom is what you're after, or even securing maximal protection for enumerated freedoms, you should realize that your boss is a bigger threat to your freedom of speech, or freedom to practice your religious faith, than the local police or your local government, don't you? In a democratic republic, the result of property-rights libertarianism would be to diminish the sorts of social control that at times have to answer to voters, and replace them with social control with no such accountability.

I just looked up this website; it fits into the "batshitcrazy.com" category of fake news alongside breitbart and buzzfeed.

You really need to read Hobbes' and the theory of social contracts, stop listening to insane socialist demagogues making unsubstantiated soundbites about capitalism being slavery, it's a system of various voluntary social contracts with the power of consumerism preventing failing monopolies (the idea that if a company with a monopoly produces a bad product, the consumers can simply buy from another company and put the monopoly company out of business.)

have you seen the rational wiki entry on socialism and Marxism/Communism (especially)??

It isn't a news site either.

It isn't trying to be Wikipedia either, it has a self described bias and sarcastic sense of humour.

    It's mission statement:
    1. Analyzing and refuting pseudoscience and the anti-science movement.
    2. Documenting the full range of crank ideas.
    3. Explorations of authoritarianism and fundamentalism.
    4. Analysis and criticism of how these subjects are handled in the media.

You're probs just angry that it it is criticle of your crankery of choice

Anyway regardless, that paragraph on libertarianism is bang on.

"...So much so that I've recognised the true cause of them starving to death rather than being misled by racists, so I advocate a system based on common ownership, equality, democracy and needs satisfaction. A new and better order of society. Not a handful of the rich, but all the working people must enjoy the fruits of their common labour."
