u guys r so lucky! i have to get a plane over to england for my uni (im in northern ireland) so im restricted to 20kgs!
You could come over by car and ferry at the beginning of the year bringing most of your stuff, then just manage with a suitcase at Xmas and easter - this is what irish friends of my sister do.

Most people take suitcases and plastic crates, though if youre posh or from overseas you might take a trunk! The crates are useful cos you can store clothes in them under the bed if you dont have enough drawer space. It is a good idea to take a telly, it might stop you being tempted to go to the bar every night.
Lol, its funny how people think. I was thinking that if I brought a TV with me it would make me socialise less!

I was making assumptions there, apologies... How about letting the train take the strain? Is there a train from London to the ferry?

If you drive you can hire a car one-way. I'm gonna hire one from a nottingham branch and return it to the exeter branch. It costs about £60, not bad as I bet train fare is nearly that much.
