Art foundation level 3 or 4 ?

Does anyone know the difference between level 3 and level 4 art foundations ?
I have been accepted into a level 3 art foundation but worried incase it is less respected to unis ? Is level 4 better for when applying to uni ?

or are they similar ?

They're pretty much the same qualification (the only difference is in the level of a single module and that a level 3 attracts tariff points while the level 4 version does not).

It's whichever course you think suits you best and where you think you'll do your best work...art & design schools/universities will be happy with either.

The only reason to pick level 3 FAD over level 4 FAD is either
- because you think the college offering it will be better for you or
- because you're considering applying to a non art & design based degree after the foundation diploma and the universities you're considering for that course would accept tariff points from the FAD

Oh okay thanks a lot ! do you also know if either are more difficult getting in to, for example is the level 4 foundation harder when trying to get into the course ?

It shouldn't be - like I say the course content is identical except in the Level 4 course over half the course is at Level 4 (in the level 3 course it's just under 50%)....by the end of the year you'll be at Level 4 if you pass and at the start of the year you'll be at Level 3 regardless which you choose (that's the point of the course - it's a bridge between A level and degree level work )

The difference is not noticeable to anyone except administrative staff
