Do you need a passport to apply for a provisional license

Hi guys

I would like to apply for a provisional license because I don't have a proof of identification when I want to go out. I was just wondering if I need my passport to apply. My passport is currently being process by the Home Office.

Thanks in advance

Other types of identification
You must send the following identity documents if you don’t have a biometric passport:

a current and valid passport

a biometric residence permit (BRP) - formerly known as the identity card for foreign nationals

a UK certificate of naturalisation

a travel document

I dont have any of those....

I only have a National Insurance number :/
You'll need to apply for one of them.
A passport or getting UK naturalisation are the best options.

Have you come to the UK only recently?
