'Drop yourself to that level' lol. Says it all
I still don't get what the problem is with my condemning alcohol? If I was condemning a drug like cocaine it'd be fine. But because you drink alcohol, you're offended?

Alcohol is no better than drugs. Like I said, you do you. But I'll continue to condemn alcohol all I like.

I don't understand why you bothered posting this thread. You clearly know what you want. Did you get a rejection letter today and are just looking for a fight?

Endless reels of triggered people have responded, so I feel like I should at least give back some effort and give them a reply.

Funnily enough, I did get a rejection from a uni just the other day, fyi

That doesn't make sense mate. What do you mean that your level of integrity is too high for you to drink? I'm sure there are plenty of other activities that you indulge in that do you 'literally no good', such as creating this thread on TSR? Didn't stop you though.
This thread doesn't negatively effect my life? Alcohol does.

The amount of triggered alcoholics responding to this post is UNREAL. You guys are defending alcohol like it's your first born.

I would honestly rather keep my integrity and have 0 friends than have loads of friends and be a drinker.

I'm not superior or judgemental, I just won't be associating myself with these people, because we have nothing in common, nor will I ever want to go clubbing do the stuff they like.

The experiences I've had of literally staying in a loud bar for like 10 minutes is enough to put me off for life. Drunk people are the worst. (When they're drunk)
Dude nobody cares what you do, but if you go around telling other people how superior you are and frowning upon them, then you wont win any friends at all. You havent even been to uni yet so you dont know what its like. Plenty of people dont drink or sleep around.

I mean I'm doing Maths, so don't think I'm some sociology student lounging around doing f**k all or something But fair enough. I think it's a perfectly legit and reasonable choice not to drink, but drinking won't necessarily destroy your life or anything.
I figured haha. I just meant that my degree won't be easy for me to attain in particular. I feel like most maths students are that intelligent they could get smashed most nights and get their degree easily anyway

It's your attitude we're taking issue with.
You clearly think you're above people who drink which is just nonsense.

I do condemn alcohol to a degree, excessive consumption is bad.

I condemn cocaine, excessive consumption will cause scar tissue to form around your heart thus leading to health problems in the future, however i am actually not against drug use totally.

I put alcohol and other drugs on a similar (not the same) level. Weed is the least dangerous of them all.

So i agree with a lot of what you're saying (ie pointing out the hypocrisy of many drinkers), i just dislike your 'high and mighty' attitude.

Drugs can be used to enhance your life. Headache/flu = paracetomol based products. Swelling = ibuprofen. Want to socialise = drink can help etc etc.

Just don't let drugs control your life. Never feel you need them. (Hence why i'm very against smoking cigs. A couple when you're drunk ok but sober absolutely not)

So you're being way OTT imo and need to chill out. Have a pint or two son, you'll understand

    Skim read but;

good on you. I don't drink alcohol myself (not just for religious reasons). Uni life is what you make of it i guess. Many mature students I know are way past the whole going out getting smashed off their face.
But what I would point out is that don't waste your years just studying and getting fit and healthy. And I'm not saying that is not what you should do!!...but consider everything. Uni is a great place to find people with similar interests etc...but you are only going to be able to do that if you go and socilaise. Another thing you must realise is that you must ask yourself "why have I gone to uni?"
Most will answer with "to get a decent job at the end of it"
Well...reality check...a paper degree today will do you jack-all....employers now look for other skills other than an honour degree
I love going to nightclubs and just dancing the night away....and I do not need alcohol to enjoy it (contrary to the popular belief!)

Oh...and never...i mean seriously don't...ever...be tempted in to peer pressure. If you are not comfortable with something, say it...if your friends don't appreciate that...then it may be best to move on.
    Great contribution, thanks for this.

Trust me, I don't go round telling other people how superior I am. There's a reason I'm sat on TSR venting about alcoholics, because there's no platform to do it IRL. Because literally EVERYONE drinks.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You think I'd go round telling people IRL how bad drinkers are? Why tf do you think I'm on TSR venting?

I wouldn't say it's stuck up to live my life differently to others and condemn what they do.
Why is it okay for people to condemn drugs like cocaine but not okay for me to condemn alcohol?
Because there are people who do that. You're essentially a keyboard warrior and that's pretty pathetic.

That's not the point. The point is you seem to be so personally offended by what other people do on their nights out when you aren't even involved. I predict you're going to have a terrible time at university and can't wait to see you back on here in three years time crying about how you've made no friends at uni, and haven't done anything significant either.

Well, I'll tell you for sure that I do not think I'm above people who drink. I feel like for my personally wellbeing, I'd be best if I stayed away from it, and kept my personal integrity, rather than following what everyone is is doing.

When I write I often have a habit of exaggerating my words which probably makes me seem like I'm all 'high and mighty' but honestly it just helps me get my point across better.

Again I stress it's my personal decision, based on my morals, and my integrity. No one else's, I don't expect anyone else to do anything, or be like me in any way.

It's funny how I literally called people out for being triggered, then in the same sentence used the trigger word 'alcoholic' and you caught the bait. Unbelievable.

    Does this come from religion?
I used to be like you a bit i suppose but just started with a few drinks and went from there.
I'm glad i'm no longer 17/18 tbh, i don't want to go out 3/4 nights a week anymore. Barely go out once every two/three weeks now so i get why you aren't massively keen but i can be very fun i certainly had loads of fun.

Nowadays i prefer going to the pub and actually speaking to people, having a good chat etc. Or on rare occasions i'll go to a rave. So maybe you should try just going to the pub...

Everyone doesnt drink alcohol. You have little experience and none of university.
Very few people drink alcohol all the time or get smashed every night.
You have a very distorted view of university.

You should chill out. If you come across as so disapproving then people will notice and avoid you. Thats very likely to happen in the sporting clubs you say you intend to join.

Well. This is all my personal choice. I guess I should keep it to myself, because people don't like hearing other views besides there own, but...

I don't live my life to impress people, I don't live my life to make 'friends' I don't concern myself with other people. I'm focused on my own goals, not the appeasement of others. If someone comes into my life and they don't understand that? Well, they're not going to be my friend. If they try to pressure me into things I don't want to do? Not going to be my friend. I always put myself first.

I'm not telling anyone else to do anything, I'm simply giving you another perspective on life, and showing you how I choose to live mine.

'Doing anything significant'? Like what? Getting a degree? Because that's what I'm there for, and hopefully, by the end, I'll have graduated and achieved my dream.

I'm a COWARD now??? What the hell have I done? I've simply explained the way I choose to live my life and I've been labelled a COWARD? For not drinking alcohol and condemning an unhealthy lifestyle???

Jesus Christ I've finally found someone that agrees with me! I've literally just condemned alcohol but people are responding like I've called for the second mass genocide of all Jews.
