How much is normal to spend in a month?

Just curious what everyone considers "normal" :smile:
30 a month average
About 30 or 40 mostly on food
£500- £700 per month minimum are my expenses. This covers phone bills, broadband, food, travel, eating out, clothes, cosmetics, household items etc.

A few thousand pounds at the absolute minimum, just when I'm feeling poor you know

That would just about cover my travel costs.

What??

@OP, answer depends on age.
My guesses are: for a uni student 600-700 and for an adult who works 1500. These are just "normal" figures, for example, my friends and I spend much more than average uni students. It depends on where you live, lifestyle and income/assets, obviously, but the normal amount should look something like that.
There is no such thing as normal. I don't even know what is normal for me. It depends on the month.
Currently <£350 a month, as parents cover my travel, food, and rent. £160 of that is my tuition.

Before I had to move back in with them (health issues) I was spending around £600-800 a month. I was getting free tuition then but had to cover bills / rent / food / travel / pets / etc myself. And often ended up covering for my flatmate who was earning £1000+ a month yet always seemed broke within a fortnight. :/
Zilch.
There is no "normal" because everyone's situation is different. Some people on here will still be kids living with their parents, so their expenses will obviously be low, others will be at uni but still living with parents, a lot will be living away from home either alone or sharing and some may even be married with kids. What is "normal" completely depends on where you are in life.

For me personally my expenses are;

£280 per month rent+ bills.

£100-130 per month food.

£170 per month savings.

All of my other spending is luxuries. And it varies a lot per month. Some months I may spend a few hundred on going out to drink or eat, or on clothes and other things. Some months may come in as less that 100.

Just with respect to foods and drinks, 40 up to 50 pounds a year. For another things, like books or DVDs for instance, say 100 up 120 pounds are average.
It varies a lot with me. My bills are something like £175 a month, food varies a lot and it depends on whether I eat out, go away, etc.

Probably no more than £300 a month or so on average.
