This thread and its title are wrong on so many levels, I don't even know where to start.
1. The story referenced above doesn't mention anything about the government acknowledging anything (I did skim through it so I might have missed what the OP is referring to).
2. The 'gender pay gap' has been part of government policy for over 20 years now, so I don't understand the OP's choice of title.
3. The pay gap exists. Everyone believes that it exists. No-one questions that it is not 'real'......the issue with the pay gap is that feminists claim that it is caused by discrimination whilst non-feminists claim it is the result of gender typical behaviours.
4. The most worrying thing about this issue is that the government is dealing with the pay gap in a accordance with the flawed feminist interpretations of life and this in turn is having a huge negative impact on equality and men. Examples of things that the government has done in the past couple of decades to "reduce the gap" in accordance with feminist beliefs include:
- The introduction of women-only parliamentary election short-lists (over the next 25 years). This happened back in 2008 and flies in the face of democracy and has seen male MPs deprived a seat in parliament and a voice in government because of their gender in favour of less experienced, less qualified female MPs.
- The introduction of the concept of 'positive' discrimination in the Equality Act in 2010 which has seen companies and institutions (yes that includes universities) rejecting male applicants in favour of less experienced, less qualified female applicants....yes discrimination is part of equality now.
- The introduction of voluntary quotas to top companies demanding that females make up 25% of all top company boardrooms over 4 years....as a result of this many men have been turned down for promotions and jobs in favour of less qualified female directors. This started back in 2011.
...and the list goes on.
This discrimination, this damage by feminist ideology against men and favouritism for women is all going on behind the scenes. Men need to wake up.
