Does anyone know how you can find which unis offer PGDip social work which qualifies you? Do all unis that do MA offer that? I've tried to look but most I'm finding are actually the Step Up course, I just want a back up.

Hi ya
Some people received emails (myself being one) saying they were unsuccessful as we didn't meet the academic criteria (when we did) so we received some emails to clarify and sort things. To my knowledge no one has heard yet, the email I received (which was about the mix up with my qualifications) said that we can expect to be contacted early June regarding interviews.

Hi Kate did you ever hear back ? I did Irish leaving certificate too although I'm surprised that equates to GCSE as I thought it would to A level. As I got a D in maths they told me I was unsuccessfully but I got C in my junior cert so was hoping that would be enough ! Very frustrating can't get in because of my school results even though I have a degree and a masters !

Skenny 29 did you hear back? I also applied and I did Irish LC. When applying I only included my LC instead of junior certificate I wonder will this go against me? Seem to be confusion as to which one equaled to LC I found personally.

Also this has happened my friend she applied also and got a D in honours English. She hasn't heard back yet but I would presume ye would meet the requirements considering ye took higher level? As this would be the same as a B in ordinary level?

Wow - so you've heard back that you were unsuccessful? That seems ridiculous when, as you say, you have a masters!

Hello All. I have just phoned up for an update. They received over 10,000 applications, but depending on region varied with the number of applications. Apparently, they have reduced the number of applications based on the eligibility criteria. If you havent heard anything yet it means you have been successful to the next phase, which is local services providers assessing responses and experience against the competency framework. We should hear back either way in the next few weeks and some assessment centres in the south west will commence on the 27th June approx for 2 weeks. Some local providers will state a date whereas some will provide a window in which you can attend. Hope this helps.

* Application window closes (5 May 2017)
* Sifting and selection for assessment centre phase (April 7 Jun 17)
* Assessment Centre phase (22 Jun 21 Jul 17)

Hiya,

I heard back and was told it was a mistake and that I did meet the criteria. I am surprised that they didn't accept your D in Maths for the Leaving, I got a B in ordinary maths but a D in higher English which seemed to be enough. Did you get an email saying you didn't meet the criteria? If you did, make sure to contact them do they re-evaluate your application, they seem to have made mistakes.

Does anyone know if the salary in London is the same as rest of UK- wondered if there is a London weighting??

Reply 596

TEN THOUSAND...sheesh I won't be preparing my boss to write a reference then haha!! Hope they put us out of our misery soon 😆

Reply 597

10,000 applicants!!!! And here is me putting my life on hold for it!! The waiting is torture. I almost started to believe that they'd forgotten and it was all a dream.

Reply 598

I wonder how many applicant they put through to the next stage. I cannot see the paper shift reducing this number by much! Well all we can do is hope for the best xxx

Reply 599

That is crazy, I can't imagine the numbers have reduced drastically either. Well, good luck everyone! I'm already looking into back up options 😂
