Step up to social work 2018 cohort

Today I received the email inviting me to the assessment centre! I'm rather curious and excited now as to how it'll be. A whole day in Birmingham.

Just a quick question though as I'm currently unemployed with no income. Are our travel expenses covered? Since in the 'Essential Information' for the West Midlands there's a heading for travel/parking/expenses, but then no mention of expenses in the information underneath.

Is anyone else young here (in their 20s)? I can't help but feel too inexperienced for this, although I meet all the requirements.

Try to contact someone if you can and they might suggest that you save expemses receipts i.e bus or train tickets etc. when i went Frontline in London they had a system where they reimbursed a max of 25 quid for travel as i travelled from stoke to london. I hope to see you on the birmingham day 😀

Just rang North Yorkshire, the lady said that all short listing has been done and capita have sent out responses. I've not heard anything so she took my name and number and is going to chase it up.

First time post - I've been invited to the North East assessment centre (my council choices are Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside).

Does anyone know much about the assessment centre e.g what sort of things to prepare/what sort of things they'll ask? Or is there another thread somewhere discussing this?

I'm only 21 and straight out of uni so don't have a mass of experience so quite nervous about what to expect.

MWindsor. U scared the life out of me 😳 I phoned too now and she said they are still in the process of sending out replies. She said she hopes it will be by the end of tday but if not then it will be next week.

It's nice to see yet another person who's in their early 20s. I keep wondering if I'm really able to do such a thing, especially regarding experience, but if we've been invited then they must see something in us.

Congratulations to you too. I seem to remember reading stuff about the interviewing on TSR but I can't seem to find it. However, in my email regarding the assessment centre for the West Midlands, all I got told was this:

Just got through to them, they are 'trying' to get them done by the early part of next week.
