Personally, I think Cambridge is the best university for mathematics in UK.
What's your opinion? I mean undergraduate.

Definately Cambridge. And perhaps I'm biased, but I'm sure Warwick should be an option in that list!

In terms of reputation, Cambridge is unmatched in the UK. The British IMO team train there, and so do the people for the Informatics Olympiad. The Cam mathematicians do get the nerd label a lot though.

Oxford's reputation is as good as Cambridge...

not really for Maths.

Cambridge easily has the best reputation. Not sure why Imperial and Warwick are not there.

Certainly not for Maths.

Isn't Warwick's Maths dept good? I know they ask for STEP, so I figured they were taking it pretty seriously.

yes Warwick is good IMO. That's why I was asking why it is not in the poll

Woops, misread...I thought you were asking why they were there (which they're not anyway).

I don't know about Imperial...I heard their Pure Maths isn't that strong, but then again it is an Applied kind of university.

Sorry, I don't know how to change the poll...

Warwicks reputation is based on little else other than their "Step requirements".

They got Rob Mackay!

( OK he's a Cambridge graduate but still  )

We have the chair of the Mathematical Association (or something like that) who also happens to be my personal tutor.

They got Ian Stewart!

He writes those books!

Why is there even a poll? It's obvious that Cambridge is the pinnacle.

Very true, I think there's no guestion about it.

However, what I've heard is that Warwick is supposed to nearly as good
as Cambridge degree structure / teaching wise.. Any comments on this?
I talked with a maths teacher while at Oxford (just for the record, she
wasn't an Oxford professor just someone who'd been teaching maths for ages)and she said that she would recommend Warwick after Cambridge..

I had MMath at Warwick as one of my UCAS options.
After thinking it long and hard, I decided to but Warwick as my insurrance.
I'm now headed to Imperial College for a double majors equivalent of
Maths and Computer Science, should be good

If I would have gone for a straight maths degree I would have gone
to Warwick. They got a nice, new n shiny mathematics institute there
with blackboards in the common room..
I guess they're mimicking Newton Institute here, lol, but
yeah I like the idea of it..
