Hi everyone, so I've just chosen my GCSE's, and my school wouldn't let me do ICT as they don't offer it and I think I'm leaning towards a career in that area. I have no idea where to start when it comes to taking GCSE's out of school, and I'm a bit clueless xD. I was wondering if it would be at all possible to teach myself ICT GCSE out of school, and then take it out of school, but sadly I have no idea if that's possible! Help!

To be honest ICT is quite a useless A-level these days… you'd be better off taking computer science

Yes on Code Academy my sixth form will let me do a level computing since I already know how to code in various languages

I know it is possible to take gcses out of school. private colleges can sign you up and you pay for the exams.
I am used to studying myself since I don't trust teachers anymore, the book is fairly easy to learn and mostly common sense.

GCSE ICT is soon being taken out of the education system. It's not really worth anything. If you want to do a computer related course at college, it's very likely that they'll let you in without GCSE ICT (my dad teaches A Level ICT and BTEC Lvl 3 Computer Science). Even if they're being picky, you can explain that your school doesn't offer ICT. It's not a big deal, so don't fret about it.
