Hello I think I might be being stupid but is rock type the same as lava type?
It's just on one of my sheets it says the rock type is rhyolitic but the lava type is andesitic. (of acid/dome volcanoes) Is this right? if it is could you explain why? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Hi AIMEERAE14,

I could be wrong, but I think that lava type and the resulting igneous rock type should be the same. Andesitic and rhyolitic lavas have different compositions, so I'm not sure how andesitic lavas could produce rhyolitic rocks
