HESA number on registration form-what is it? Watch

    • Thread Starter

On the registration form I have to fill in, I seemingly have to state my HESA number-but I have no idea what this is. Maybe it's something that's filled in by the administration at Uni. Does anyone know anything about this?

HESA is the higher education statistics agency - do you have guidance notes with the form? If not, contact the relevant people and ask for their advice.

You will only have a HESA number if you have already studied at a UK university. If you haven't leave it blank - only unis can request new numbers. gives more info on the data that unis hold and pass on to HESA (and which can be purchased from HESA to produce league tables). gives details on how to have your data withheld from data requests.
