Hey guys, wondering if you current students can help me out? I want to send a (surprise) present to my friend- wondering what address to send it to? She goes to Collingwood (first year)
Guessing its:
Name
Collingwood College
South Road
Durham
DH1 3LT
Or something like that?

Yeah, just send it to her name at the college address and it'll get to her.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but, how much of a trek is Hild Bede from, well, pretty much all the important places? (I.e town, clubs etc.) and if anyone knows, to and from the archaeology building? i looked on the Uni map and it seems to be the furthest away from everywhere!
Thanks xx

It's just under ten minutes to the city centre and Elvet Riverside (the lecture complex) then another ten minutes to the science site (library and archaeology department).

That's just a rough guide. I could probably walk to the science site in ten minutes (depending on the crowds) but I have six foot(ish) and walk very fast!

When I came to a post-offer open day, it varied. Some people brought parents, and others didn't. Personally, I did, but that was mainly because my mum had never been to Durham and she wanted to see it. There was a separate talk for parents and students at college.

Are you talking about the post-offer open days? If so I wouldn't recommend it - they usually take you on a night out (at least they did at Hild Bede) and they feed you and keep you occupied pretty much the whole time. At the one I went to no one I spoke to had parents with them.

how far is Butler from everywhere? From what I've heard it's quite a long way out, but maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong?!

12 minutes to the Science Site and about 25 to town.
I'd say 20 to Elvet Riverside.

Yeah, when I was at LSE I had to walk 40 minutes each way between halls and the campus!

And woooo one week! :woo:

How likely are you to get your first choice of college? Or does it depend on the college?

Also what is Trevs like? The architecture sounds amazing so I'm considering it.

Do you get to specify a second choice of college?

Depends on the college. The Bailey ones are more popular than the Hill ones, so your chances of getting into them are lower.

No.

EDIT: Here is a massive thread on Trevelyan:

There's bound to be some good info in there.
