It will depend on the contract you sign as well as the college. Butler, for example, requires that you sign a contract that allows to you live in college throughout the Christmas and Easter vacations.

Some colleges want you out of your accomodation for the Easter holidays though, to make room for the Open Days. At Cuth's they say that you can't stay on the Bailey over Easter for that reason :dontknow:

It all depends on the college. At grey you can get an extended let but you dont get meals and i think there are certain dates where you have to leave but im not sure.

They have more similarities than differences, yes. The first thing you need to consider is whether or not you want to be guaranteed self-catered accommodation, in which case you must apply to Josephine Bulter. St Cuthberts Society has both catered and self-catered accommodation, and all of the others are catered. Do you want a very traditional college or a more modern one? Are you a very lazy scientist (pick Grey in that case)? Remember that you apply to the department rather than the college at Durham, so picking Castle doesn't immediately mean that you're at a disadvantage.

It's probably been asked before in this thread, but I was wondering who I should contact about changing my e-mail address (I had it as my school one which obviously won't be valid later in the holidays, so want to change it to my main one). At the open day we were told to change it on UCAS and contact someone, but he didn't say who that someone was. I'll be doing Natural Sciences at Trevs.

Term starts on October 7 so you will probably move in the weekend before that. I think whether it's Saturday or Sunday varies between colleges.

I'm pretty sure we concluded that people at Cuth's usually move in on the Saturday before term starts :smile:
