I have become a bit worried that most people are going to be kind of alien to me. That they'll all be from grammar schools or private schools down south and I'll be the only one without a posh accent, from a school where they didn't even write the name of it properly on our leavers hoodies. Hopefully it'll be okay, but I think I might find it weird to start with.

You're going to Trevs, trust me, there aren't *that* many posh people here. There are a fair number of southerners who aren't generally posh (most of my friends are northern/midlanders, and the southerners are all down to earth and not stuck up their own arses), maybe the odd Rah but not many, a few stoners, and a hell of a lot of crazy people .
Despite knowing a few people from the area, I can only think of one person with a proper Brummy accent...obviously he won't be the only person in Durham with the accent, but must count for something?

Yeah, there're a few around, not *that* many though...there're quite a few smokers though. They're perfectly nice people on the whole so don't hold it against them! And they do a variety of subjects...
Hi all, basically I've been given a conditional for October, pure economics and staying in St Aidan's. I haven't planned for anything involving accommodation yet, is this fine?

Yes. Accommodation begins to be organised after results.
Basically it looks like if I were to go to Durham, I'd be looking at having to be fully catered at most colleges. What is the range of meals available with the fully catered option? I'm a fussy eater, to say the least

When I was in catered accommodation at Grey, a couple of years ago, there would be generally 3 main things (including 1 vegetarian, which anyone could have if they wanted), then several vegetables/rice etc. things which you could pick and choose. Is there anything in particular other than that which you want to know?
I bet most colleges have something similar, though your best bet to be sure is make sure someone from that college answers here or just ask the college yourself.
EDIT: If you really don't want to be catered, self catering at Cuths is a completely painless option, though I don't know how sure you can be about being accepted to the self catering block.

At Trevs it's basically the same as at Grey...3 main meals (1 veggie) to choose from plus veg/carbs/salads etc to choose, plus dessert in evenings. They're on a 3 week rota, so if there's something you don't like you'll know it's gonna come up again in 3 weeks time. Menu changes every term though so you basically get each menu 3 times.
