How long does it take to get from Elvet Riverside to the Science site? I have my french seminar finishing at 10 at ER and then a biology lecture on the science site starting at 10 (i know that the lecturers usually end a lecture five minutes early and start five minutes late). Is it possible to walk in 10 minutes or am I going to have to wear trainers and leg it? Thanks

Definitely possible to walk it in 10 minutes. It's always a shorter distance than I think it is.
i am applying to like 4 unis for maths and i think that they are all 4 year courses which are called G100. but for durham, g100 is 3years but g103 is 4 years. can someone tell me the difference?

Lecturers are supposed to end the lectures 5 mins early, but that often doesn't happen, and while you're definitely able to walk from ER to science in 10 mins at most times, it takes a fair bit longer if you get caught between/ have to dodge through slow walking people. Maybe try speed walking the first time and see how early/late you end up!

The former is a regular Bachelor's degree, while the latter is an integrated Masters.
hey i just had a read of those links and g100 and g103 seem really similar. say if i pick g103 and after 3 years studying it, would i have the qualification of the g100? so if i like choose not to do the last and 4th year, i'd still have a g100 qualification? because the units in both of them look the same

Hello, I believe they are the same up to (including) year 2, while the B.Sc. has either Communicating Mathematics or Teaching Mathematics in year 3, while the M.Sc. has some project module (possibly called Communicating Mathematics, but I believe the weighting of that module is a little bit different) in the 4th year. In other words, you do not get a separate B.Sc. from the first 3 years of the M.Sc.
But yes, switches before year 3 are possible (assuming there is space to switch courses) AFAIK.
Hi all- new to this! But just wondering if any criminology students could tell me about when they got offers? My expectations are of course moderated being Durham but being a social science with typically lower offers than most courses I thought it may be worth a check?
Hi I am currently a foundation year student at Durham University, any queries about the course or anything Durham Uni related I'm happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for offering - I've copied you into the AACS thread. (which I've only just noticed has barely had any activity for two months. )

What is it you study? Also, where is the Foundation Centre based in Durham exactly? Are you a member of any societies? Are they good? I'm going in 2013!

PM me please!
I'm going on to study theology. The foundation centre is located at Hild and Bede @ Pelaw House which is a 5 minute walk from the centre. The lectures are classroom based and take place in rooms doted around the college, but are quite centralised. Most of my classes are in the main building at the Hild and Bede site , and located close to the college library. I am not a member of any societies, but mean to join the theology one next year. Mainly because I live out and to keep on top of my work. The societies are good, and there are so many to chose from. The college likes to encourage students to join at least one society.
Hey how does the accounting and finance course at durham compare to the one at bristol? any idea which one has a better reputation amongst employers in the uk or overseas?
Bit of an odd question but does Durham/any where close to Durham have a Polo club or society? I've tried looking on the Durham website but I can't seem to find anything.
