Hey I got inTo Durham today and I filled the AS12 confirmation form at 8pm, i read the 'reply as soon as you read the letter' and panicked, thinking I had replied late.

Also have you received any additional emails for accomodation ect..? I have yet to receive further information.

Thanks

hey  nah you'll be fine dw abt your place disappearing! no i've had nothing about accommodation etc but i think it varies from college to college, and since we've confirmed, there's no rush to get us that sort of info - i'd imagine an email will arrive in a week or so

GREY ARMY!

You're joining the best college in Durham (not that, as former editor of Grey Matter and Commander-in-Chief of the Grey Army, I'm biased...). Enjoy it, and make sure you learn the words to "You Are My Sunshine" before you get there - you'll be singing it a lot!
Hey, I met my requirements for Durham, but have not yet replied. I am a bit apprehensive and unsure about the biology/ biomedical sciences course at Durham as I did not get chance to look around. I am debating whether to go or not as just have a few little worries about it. Can any current biology students give me their opinions on the department. degree course. Thanks

I don't know which college you're at, but at Butler, we all simply filled out an online form with our preferences for flatmates, our hobbies and personalities. Then we were left to find out who we were with upon moving in! I know that at Grey, a friend of mine who shared in her first term got to know who her roommate was before they both arrived, but that's the only difference I know.

I was just wondering how convenient Durham is for vegans and whether there are any colleges that are better at catering for vegans.

Thanks

Pretty much all college catering is done centrally - all colleges get the same food as far as I'm aware. They'll also cater for most dietary requirements; vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergies (and probably others, though those I would imagine are the most common).

Would I have a shot at getting into Durham with mediocre GSCE's: 2 A*, 5 A & 1 B?

I haven't done A Levels yet and would like to do a Psychology degree.

Entry requirements for Psychology are only AAA, so you'll be completely fine with those GCSEs I imagine. Durham doesn't put as much emphasis on GCSEs as Oxbridge.

I'll be arriving in Chad's in October - could anyone say if a navy suit for matriculation, etc. would be fine or should I go and get a charcoal one sooner rather than later?
