Currently doing as grades (don’t really know if they still important). Feel really unprepared for them and know I will do terrible. What sort of as grades should I be getting in order to get an offer for economics at Durham. Already know micro went terrible- which I’m really annoyed about. Maths probably went poorly

For competitive departments w/o interviews (which I think is all of them now) what they care about a lot is predicted grades at A-level. We had a meeting in our department about entry requirements and that seems to be one of their biggest criteria. It's not just about straight grades though - PS is taken into account, but aiming for As and Bs is a good place to start

Aiming for A’s and B’s in year 12, oh god. These exams I feel have gone awful. I will still be able to be targeted the grade requirements, but I don’t think this year grades will be A’s and B’s

Not that great, I had trouble concentrating in terms of getting into revision, my sister was going through an illness at the time. I was targeted 8A* 3A’s but got 1A* 8A 2B

Just focus on getting the best grades that you possibly can. If you're passionate about your course they'll let you in

Even for a really competitive course like economics, they usually make the right decisions.

Depends on the year, there were a good number of Near Miss applicants on my corridor.

Depends on the college
How to maximise my chance of getting in. Extra curricular for economics
Is it true that you lose your original college allocation if you get in with a near miss? (I love my college so much but I feel like I'm going to get AAA not A*AA!)
