I only visited St Mary's of the two but loved it. Amazing building and location. People seemed nice and there was a positive atmosphere. Had a bar in thebasement and it's own gym. Defo the one I'm wanting to go to.

Thank you! I applied there in the end

Which college has the reputation for partying the most?
I have 3A*s and 6As at gcses. A and B at AS with predicted A*A*A at the end of year 13. ( my 3rd A level is linear). I study biology, chemistry and urdu. I want to apply for zoology as an international student. What are my chances and are any scholarships available?
Anyone studying NatSci with Geography and Biology? Does anyone know which subjects I need as the website isn’t very helpful?

varies by the intake of students. Each college likes to party, but I think Collingwood is quite like that.

Can I use an Amazon Echo Dot in student accommodation? Thinking of getting one in the Black Friday sale but hoping to be a Durham student next year so not much point if it’s not compatible in dorm rooms!
I really can't see why you wouldn't be able to use one in student accommodation. Below is a link to one of the college's (St. Chad's) occupancy agreements. There is no mention of an Amazon Ech Dot not being allowed.

(You've actually made me go out and buy one - it's ace. Only £19.99 from Argos). 👌☺️

Unfortunenately, you cant connect alexa or ech dot etc to the university's wifi.
just want to know st cuthberts overall reputation
Anyone know whether you can tell if you'll get your chosen college or not from your offer? Obviously they don't say directly, but are there certain hints that you might get it? eg. from the time you received it, the grades required...

The admissions process in completely separate from the college allocation system. That means time of offer, grades required will not influence. If you're applying as a minority in your course, you are more likely to get your college allocation as the colleges allocate to try and get a relatively diverse set of students. For example, if you're a male applying to psychology, you are more likely to get the college you originally applied to because the majority of psychology students are female.
Last year, you were able to see what college you were allocated to early by looking at the accommodation they offer you for the post-offer day

Well, here's to hoping a female maths student is enough to get that college then
Probably has been asked before, but some people get deterred from Durham because of its more rural location, which gives some the impression that it's "boring", especially the nightlife. Can anyone debunk this claim?

There's plenty to do in terms of social events, and Newcastle is 12 mins on the train. It is just fine.
